BeeMind ("we," "our," or "us") is built with privacy at its core. We believe your thoughts and notes should remain yours, which is why we've designed our app to maximize privacy while delivering powerful features.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the BeeMind application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Local Storage: By default, all your notes and captured content are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data, and we do not collect, transmit, or store your notes on our servers.

AI Processing: When you use AI-powered features, your content may be sent to a third-party AI provider of your choice:

• OpenAI (requires internet connection)
• Anthropic Claude (requires internet connection)
• Local LLM (100% offline, no data leaves your device)

You choose which provider to use. We do not control, and are not responsible for, how third-party AI providers process your data. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of your chosen provider before enabling cloud-based AI features.

For premium users, BeeMind uses Apple's iCloud for synchronization:

• All sync functionality is handled through your personal iCloud account
• Data is protected by Apple's built-in security and encryption
• Your content stays within Apple's ecosystem
• We never have direct access to your synced data
• Sync can be controlled through your device's iCloud settings

Note: iCloud sync requires an active Apple ID and sufficient iCloud storage. Please refer to Apple's iCloud privacy policy for details about their data handling and security practices.

We collect minimal, anonymized analytics to improve the app:

• App launches and crashes (no personal data included)
• Feature usage statistics (aggregated and anonymized)
• Basic system information (macOS/iOS version, device type)

We use Plausible Analytics for our website, which is privacy-focused and does not use cookies or collect personal data.

You can opt out of in-app analytics in the app settings at any time.

Since your notes are stored locally on your device (and optionally in your personal iCloud account), data retention is entirely under your control. We do not maintain copies of your content on our infrastructure.

Anonymized analytics data is retained for up to 24 months before being automatically deleted.

You have full control over your data:

• Delete individual notes or all data from the app at any time
• Export your data in standard formats
• Switch or disable AI providers
• Enable or disable iCloud sync
• Opt out of analytics
• Uninstall the app, which removes all locally stored data

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and the right to opt out of data sales (we do not sell your data). When you choose to use cloud-based AI features, your content is processed by the provider you select. Each provider has its own terms and privacy practices:

• OpenAI — Privacy Policy
• Anthropic — Privacy Policy
• Local LLM — No third-party involvement

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, data handling, security, or content generated by third-party AI providers. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and policies. We strongly recommend reviewing their privacy policies before use.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
• We are not liable for any loss of data, including notes or captured content stored on your device or in iCloud
• We are not responsible for the accuracy, reliability, or legality of any content generated by third-party AI providers
• Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
